Langkawi
A tranquil, tropical island located in the north west corner of Peninsular Malaysia and close to the Thai / Malaysian border. A flight from Kuala Lumpur takes 55 minutes. Langkawi is more rural and traditional than Penang, with limited shopping and entertainment away from the hotels. The beaches are beautiful and the ancient rainforest is stunning. Although a few more hotels have appeared over recent years, the island retains a quiet appeal. It has a similar climate pattern to Penang.
